There are some great events coming up at the Festival for families. From Thursday 21st to Sunday 24th June inclusive the Luminarium in Colvend Car Park is open from 2pm to 8pm. This is a monumental structureand dazzling maze of window paths designed to generate a sense of wonder at the beauty of light and colour.
Other family shows include Swamp Juice at Grassington Town Hall at 7.30 pm on Wednesday 20th June. Bunk puppets and Scamp Theatrepresent a swamp like no other with bickering toads, overbearing fairies and a rather gentle swamp monster. Mind blowing shadow puppetry though apparently some children under the age of 7 may find it a little scarey.
On Thursday 28th June the outdoor theatre company, Illyria, present The Twits at Bolton Abbey Priory Grounds at 6 pm.
All tickets available at The grassington Festival Office, The hub. Tel. 01756 752691.

Our new School Improvement and Development Plan for 2012/13 starts in the Summer term and is available for you to see in the “Policies” section of this web-site. It is a plan we will all be working towards over the next year, and where we will targeting most time and resources. It’s an ambitious plan and alot to achieve in a year but we have an enthusiastic team of staff and governors and we’re up for the challenge!

On Monday 5th March, our new adventure playground starts to be installed! It should be finished by the end of the week and just in time for children to enjoy in the better weather. Thank you to the “Friends” for organising fund raising events to pay for it and thank you to all the parents who supported those events. It will be enjoyed by children for many years to come.

I had a look around Upper Wharfedale School yesterday. I was impressed with the excellent GCSE results they got this year and how many students were staying after school to do extra studying. They’re certainly working hard there. If you’d like to look round they have an Open Evening on Monday 26th September from 6.00 pm. Everyone is welcome.
